I agree with some of the other reviewers. The villians in this book are weak. Johnny is, as always, funny, sexy and dominating. I love his new role, and I like that Robertson is keeping his adjustment struggles real. He's trying to maintain some semblence of his old life/passions which is exactly what you would expect. I actually enjoyed Seph's separation from Menessos. The love triangle thing ISN'T overrated, but you do have to re-invent the mold once in a while. Throw in a third love interest or do away with the second. I'm positive Robertson is doing away with Menessos, and that's okay. Johnny is a strong, dominant partner who can totally stand alone, and it won't get boring. I didn't enjoy the stuff with Seph's mom and I felt like all the Beverley, Nana, Mountain interaction was snore worthy. I didn't care about the magical animals or how they were being taken care of. These moments weren't anything to cheer about. Honestly, I started skimming and didn't stop until the part was over. This didn't change anything about the book, and that's how you know those are parts that are absolutely NOT needed to make your book good or bad. This was not the strongest book of the series; if you're going to buy this book it may be wise to buy used. Just saying.

After the events of the last book Persephone was left pretty much in shambles. Johnny was wounded, perhaps fatally, and many of their allies were killed clad determination I know she won't give up until her destiny is fulfilled.
